My reflection on Project-based learning.

I'm back yet again, and today, I'm reflecting on our latest lecture, which was about  Project-based learning  which  is a teaching method that involves a dynamic classroom approach in which it is believed that students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. Students learn about a subject by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to a complex question, challenge, or problem.It is a style of active learning and inquiry-based learning. Project-Based Learning is a form of experiential learning that emphasizes active, hands-on engagement with real-world problems.  Project-based learning contrasts with paper-based, rote memorization, or teacher-led instruction that presents established facts or portrays a smooth path to knowledge by instead posing questions, problems, or scenarios.

Going back to our times,when we were students and some years ago when we did not use to apply project-based learning,it is a quite difference between them and the latest years of being a teacher.We used to give only writing assignments and doing some exercises.We know that from such kind of exercises we can not find different abilities that student have.Later when we tried to do some cross-curricular activities ,with the same students on different subjects by integrating the topic of discussion or project in some fields ,we understood that this could help us identify different talents and capacities.This was to be done on collecting information  and writing it somewhere (paper-based)on a big piece of paper and display it in front of the class by memorizing it.Student were engaged and motivated to do something interesting,but they did not have all the opportunities that students today have to do well-organized projects and appropriate for a range of grade levels and subject areas.


That is  why , I think that incorporating Project-Based Learning (PBL) into my English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes is an exciting opportunity to make language learning more engaging and practical.Nowadays students are going to be assessed by 20% of total through project-based learning at  end of the year. With our projects we start firstly with selecting the topic,making groups,choosing the leader then selecting materials,finding resources and after processing the information,there are two classes by the end to present it in front of the class and other groups of student.By using PBL, I can give my students real-world purposes to use English, which I believe will boost their motivation and confidence. For example, I could give students work on projects like creating travel guides for English-speaking countries or preparing presentations about their favorite hobbies or interests,or making a school magazine  as something valuable to make an interesting product by using their English and  developing their main skills.These projects would require them to practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening in English, all in ways that feel relevant to their own lives,and can be suitable for their learning styles


Another  thing I love about PBL is that it encourages collaboration and communication. Many students feel nervous speaking in English, but when they work in small groups on a project, it is a more comfortable environment. They can practice speaking and listening without the pressure of speaking in front of the whole class. I would also like to incorporate a variety of digital tools, like video-making or online presentations, to help students use English creatively and feel proud of their work.

However, I also understand there will be challenges.At first there should be appropriate infrastructure to develop this kind of method in its full meaning. But when speaking about projects students could do,they  can take a lot of time, so I will need to carefully balance PBL activities with more structured grammar and vocabulary practice. I will also need to provide plenty of support for students with lower English proficiency, so they don’t feel left out. There are even cases when students may not have interest on doing projects,low productivity,etc

All in all, I believe PBL can make my future EFL classes more dynamic and engaging and  help them build both language skills and confidence in using English.

My reflection on cooperative and collaborative learning

 Hello guys✋  I hope you are doing well.Today I am going to give my insight on the other lecture . This  reflection is on cooperative and collaborative learning.I know that you have had the opportunity to practise doing group work ,and I am sure you  liked it very much.Being based on what  I have experienced and on what I read from this lecture,  the topic is very interesting  because nowadays we are asked to organise the lessons in this way. my reflection on lecture 3

Hello guys! When reading the material on Multiple Intelligences ,all of you  may have thought about the definition of intelligenc  as the ability  to learn ,understand ,and apply knowledge and skills effectively to adapt to new situations,solve problems and it encompasses a range of cognitive abilities such as reasoning ,solve problems,memory,creativity,capacity to manage emotions . And I found it quite interesting when I attended the lecture and we did a class survey which showed   that all of us had different intelligences from each other.
